Scientist in Residence Program

How would you like to have Professor Gizmo perform an all-school science presentation and then visit with smaller groups of students in your building with additional demos and hands-on science activities? Well, it can happen!  Professor Gizmo now offers a Scientist in Residence Program.

The program can take two forms - a one-day Scientist in Residence or a multiple day (2-5) Scientist in Residence program.

The one-day program would include an all-school assembly and then Professor Gizmo would meet with three smaller groups throughout the day. In many of the additional programs the professor would give the teachers a follow-up activity to be completed with their students in their classrooms at a later time.  FAQ

In the multiple day program, Professor Gizmo also begins with a one-hour all-school assembly. Then, Professor Gizmo is ready for the first round of small-group sessions. During this time, he will meet with smaller groups of students would conduct science activities appropriate for their ages. The sessions will involve demonstrations and maybe some hands-on activities. Sessions typically run  60 minutes depending on age level, with a maximum of four sessions per day. (First day would have 3 small sessions because of the all-school assembly) The small group (classroom) sessions will require a 20-30 minute break to prepare for the next session. FAQ

The small groups do not have to meet in any specific order. Professor Gizmo can help you configure a schedule for your school. A list of topics offered will be discussed before hand.  Most schools have Professor Gizmo meet once with each group on one general topic.  Your administration and staff can set up a schedule to best meet your school's goals. Schools can also opt for an additional optional evening  presentation that could involve the entire school community (parents, students and faculty) for an evening of Amazing Science Fun!

This program has proven to be a hit with students, parents and faculty. A list of references is available on request. Please feel free to email or call for further information and have your questions answered.
